Rennie Curran - Executive Director 

Rennie Curran is a former professional athlete, speaker, author, and personal development coach who has a passion for improving leadership, career performance, and personal branding.

Rennie’s unique combination of leadership experiences with the National Football League, The Jon Gordon Companies, and his transition into becoming a successful entrepreneur translates to powerful and practical coaching, training, and speaking services for his clients. For several years, Rennie has worked with schools, universities, associations, companies, and sports teams in the capacity of keynote speaker, coach, strategic partner, and brand ambassador. Clients include Coca-Cola, Chick-Fil-A, The City Council of Bainbridge, The University of Georgia, AXA Advisors, Communities In Schools, Securus, Simply Trading and more!

Cherrón Garner - Board Co-Chair

Cherrón Gardner is a Certified Meeting Professional with almost 20 years of event experience. From weddings and conferences to music festivals and luxury events there’s nothing she can’t plan. Previously Cherrón has worked for Live Nation, Porsche, IMG, HarperCollins Children's Books and ICM to name a few. Currently, she is Senior Event Marketing Specialist for a Tech Company planning events and managing the corporate global event strategy. A workaholic who manages multiple businesses, including her own event planning firm and a speakers bureau for former athletes, Cherrón has called Atlanta home for the past 10 years.

Rob Kremer - Board Co-Chair

As Vice President of Client Services for Rhythm Communications, Rob has secured and/or had oversight management for clients such as Chick-fil-A, Pro Football Hall of Famer Champ Bailey's Business Holdings, Kyle Petty Charity Ride, Trulieve, Disney+ Movie Safety, Barberitos Southwestern Grille & Cantina, General Mills, Warrick Dunn Charities, NBA's Kent Bazemore ARMS Foundation, Nappy Roots Craft Beers & Tap Room, Mill Town Music Hall, Chaparral Boats and Associated General Contractors of Georgia, among many others.

As a highly creative, relationship-oriented manager, Rob has extensive experience in developing and implementing successful programs that generate media results and awareness, as well as handling crisis communication issues.

Fred Barber- Fundraising Board Chair 

Many of our game changers benefited from having mentors to help them along thier journey. Our mentorship program focuses on establishing supportive relatioships between current and former athletes to create positive long term outcomes. For athletes who have struggles with grades, attendance, or character issues having an adult mentor who keeps in constant contact with them can make all the difference. 

Studys show that having a mentor can lead to lower dropout rates and increased confidence. Mentors will be required to connect with their mentees at least once a month. 

Erika Mitchell - Programming Board Chair 

Since being elected to the Atlanta Board of Education, Erika Mitchell has established herself as one of Atlanta’s most influential public servant. Mitchell is an active board member when it comes to serving her community and she is a strong believer in parent and community engagement. Within Mitchell’s first term in office, she developed the first electronic newsletter for her district, and established community partnerships and co-wrote the first school district Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking policy and protocol in the state of Georgia in collaboration with Dr. Sharnell Myles. Mitchell is currently elected to the National School Board Association’s Council Urban Boards of Education Steering Committee, and was appointed to serve on both Board of Directors for Atlanta Beltline and  City of Atlanta, Mayor Bottoms Complete Count Census Committee.

Cornelia Shipley - Governance Board Chair

Cornelia Shipley is the founder of 3C Consulting and a sought after speaker, and strategic planning expert who works with clients to expand their capacity, increase their capability and drive clarity in the organization to ultimately increase  the retention and advancement of mission critical talent.

As an executive development strategist, Cornelia and her team have worked with leaders at Procter and Gamble, Turner Broadcasting ,DaVita, Kaman Industrial Technologies, VMware, Deloitte, GlaxoSmithKline,  Hewlett-Packard, Pfizer, Lockheed Martin, Mondelez, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Netowork, Comerica Bank, Edward Jones, Ascension Health and others as a coach, strategic planning consultant and professional development facilitator.

Shelby Wright - Fundraising Board Chair

Shelby Wright is a five generation native of Atlanta. Both sides of her family have called this city home for generations. A graduate Shiloh High School and the University of Georgia with a degree in Public Relations from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Her career spans over 20 years in the event, marketing and sales field with stops along the way in Athens and Knoxville before returning to Atlanta in 2016.  She is an active member of the High Museum of Art, Women of UGA and a 2014 graduate of Leadership Buckhead. She is currently with Learfield IMG College representing UGA Athletics for corporate marketing partnerships. She is the godmother to two great kids, Caroline 20 and a junior at Georgia Tech, and Bennett 17 who is a senior at North Atlanta High School. She absolutely loves Brookwood Park and his happy to help steer and serve this community.

Nancy Hopkins - Treasurer

Nancy Hopkins is one of the top accountant in Georgia. She assists taxpayers and small businesses with taxes in the city of Lilburn and the surrounding communities. Whether you are an individual or a local business in or around Lilburn GA, Nancy P. Hopkins has years of valuable experience as an IRS registered tax preparer.
